LBP 45.2 million is the compensation paid by the Higher Relief Committee to the Mayor of Beirut Abdel Mone’am al-Aris as compensation for a burglary of his house located in the town of Khartoum in Saida by the end of January 2007.
LBP 75.4 billion
is the estimated compensation paid in explosions and assassinations for Lebanon since the assassination attempt against Minister Marwan Hamadeh and until the end of September 2007. An amount of LBP 27.1 billion was paid and included LBP 2.6 billion in the assassination of Deputy Antoine Ghanem; LBP 428 million in the assassination of Deputy Walid Eido; and LBP 1.3 billion in the assassination of Deputy Gebran Tueni.
