Lebanon’s private universities-believe it or not

Most private universities in Lebanon, more specifically the American University of Beirut, the Lebanese American University and the Saint Joseph University, do not have Arabic language as an obligatory course in their curriculums. The Ministry of Education and Higher Learning does not require these institutes to have minimum credit numbers for Arabic. Students, however, can take as an elective one Arabic language course, Arabic Appreciation or creative writing in Arabic.  

This is what we call nation building!

الجامعات الخاصة في لبنان- صدق أو لا تصدق

معظم الجامعات الخاصة في لبنان وتحديداً الجامعة الأميركية، الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية وجامعة القديس يوسف لا تدخل اللغة العربية في مناهجها، ولا تشترط وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي عليهم حد أدنى من الدروس في اللغة العربية. ولكن الطالب يستطيع أن يأخذ، إن شاء، درساً واحداً في اللغة العربية أو Arabic Appreciation  أو “كتابة إبداعية” باللغة العربية- “يا هيك الوطنية يا بلا”.
