Feasibility study for a plant to recycle and reclaim the solid waste collected annually in Saudi Arabia urban centers. The designed plant would treat500,000 tons/year of paper, plastic, glass, aluminum, metals and composite. Worked closely with Thomson CSF, Safe International and Al-Bilad Establishment of Saudi Arabia and other specialized European and North American environmental groups.

Marine Pollution Monitoring and Contingency Plan for Major Ports -Saudi Arabia

Provided technical assistance for development of a contingency plan for oil and chemical marine pollution in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea ports. Assisted in setting the logistics, sourcing and maintenance of pollution fighting equipment. Prepared the audio-visual and seminar material for training of SEA PORTS staff and technicians.

Oil Spill Protection of Desalination Plant, Sea Water Intake Channel - Saudi Arabia

Collaborated with a Scandinavian firm for the design and procurement of oil spill protection system. The system included detection and early warning hydrocarbon oil contamination, physical barriers, cleaning and skimming, equipment and on-land handling facility. The system was devised to protect the desalination plant intake against accidental oil leakage and spills.

The design study was conducted in close cooperation with E. Blonberg AB in Gothenburg, Sweden.
